KFF Rattery
Picture

Welcome!

We welcomed our son into the world on April 11th! We are taking a short break from breeding to allow us to adjust to being new parents. Expect new litters this  summer!

Knoll Family Farms (KFF) Rattery is a small breeding program located in
Madison Heights, Michigan, that strives to produce the highest quality rats
possible. We place equal value on temperment, type, color, and health... we
breed for the "total package." We are a registered rattery with the North American Rat Registry and are in the process of registering all our rats.

We first began breeding quality rats in 2004 and did very well in reaching
our goals. We were forced to take a short break from breeding when college,
work, and military service became too demanding, but now that we have more time
and fewer commitments, we are back at it!

We focus on producing healthy and hardy rats with good show type and color
and excellent pet personalities. Our rats are handled daily, from birth, and
are  exposed to a variety of environments and stimuli.

Rats come in such a variety of coats, colors, and body types that it's
difficult to focus on just a few! However, we are strong believers in limiting
our breeding focus to a select group of colors that can be broken into separate
lines (colors that compliment each other genetically). We study rat genetics
indepth and are careful in our mating selections. We have chosen to break our
breeding program down into 3 separate lines: the Mink line, the Black line, and the Colorpoint line.

Though we maintain these separate color focuses, some of our animals are
compatible in two or all of the lines and will be used in them. We pair rats
based on a number of factors, color being just one of them.

Feel free to take a look around and never hesitate to contact us with
questions/comments on our animals, rattery, breeding program, or if you are
looking for a new companion or animal to add to your own breeding program. We love
to help new fanciers and are always available to mentor breeders. We especially
  enjoy helping youth enthusiasts.
